We here synthesise published records in an updated distribution chart. The western Palaearctic region is divided into 5 areas and 75 geographical units, the latter mainly considered on a country basis or on a geographical basis (e.g. islands). The total number of species accounts for 145. The status of each species for a defined geographic unit is given according to five categories: {\textquoteleft}Present native{\textquoteright}, {\textquoteleft}Present introduced{\textquoteright}, {\textquoteleft}Uncertain for presence or absence{\textquoteright}, {\textquoteleft}Absent extinct{\textquoteright} and {\textquoteleft}Absent never observed{\textquoteright}. Relevant references are given per country in the annex.
